Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk: 2015 Four Wheeler Of The Year

The Four Wheeler Network scoured the earth to determine the 2015 Four Wheeler of the Year. More appropriately, they scarred the earth, testing three off-road vehicles that met their initial testing criteria. The SUVs had to be “all-new or substantially revised, have a two-speed transfer case (or equivalent), a production run of 1,500 vehicles in the U.S., and be on sale by March 15, 2015.”  At the end of the day, the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk stood proudly at the top of the pile.

The Four Wheeler Network found that the Trailhawk justified its name and did “very well on the trail.” The number of off-road features that helped this Jeep win are almost too numerable to count. Certainly, it’s 48.4 crawl ratio didn’t hurt its performance. There’s also a rear-locking differential, skid plates and the Selec-Terrain and Selec-Speed Crawl systems that allow the driver to adjust the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk’s response and handling.

The Trailhawk was also measured for its on-road performance. Though it took some getting used to, the judges admired the Jeep’s ESS (Engine Start-Stop) technology. One judge commented on its “comfortable, smooth ride that is perfect for a long trip.” Another said that the “Cherokee is a pleasure to drive on the highway.”

Finally, one judge gave his final endorsement, saying, “Extremely likable car-based SUV that’s way more capable and fun in the dirt than you’d ever imagine.” We couldn’t put it any better than that! Check out the new Trailhawk here at Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM!
