5-Year Cost to Own Awards Go to 2015 Jeep Patriot and Wrangler

5-year cost to own awards

2015 Jeep Patriot – Cost to Own Award

The cost of owning a car includes a variety of factors, including purchase price, depreciation, fuel costs, insurance, and more. This is why it is important to think about more than just the purchase price when buying a new car. That is why, each year, creates a list of the 5-Year Cost to Own awards.

This year, both the 2015 Jeep Patriot and 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited were included in the awards. This is the third year in a row the Patriot has won in the compact SUV/Crossover category and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited had the lowest ownership costs in the Mid-size SUV/Crossover segment.

“Winning these two significant awards from Kelley Blue Book is a tremendous honor and significant achievement for the Jeep Brand, and particularly for the 2015 Jeep Patriot and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, in a statement. “The awards reinforce the exceptional value that Jeep vehicles deliver to customers throughout their ownership experience.”

Both the Patriot and Wrangler landed on the list because of their value-oriented design and features.

If you’re looking for an SUV that won’t break the bank, come check out both the 2015 Jeep Patriot and Wrangler Unlimited available now at Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep.

Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk: 2015 Four Wheeler Of The Year

The Four Wheeler Network scoured the earth to determine the 2015 Four Wheeler of the Year. More appropriately, they scarred the earth, testing three off-road vehicles that met their initial testing criteria. The SUVs had to be “all-new or substantially revised, have a two-speed transfer case (or equivalent), a production run of 1,500 vehicles in the U.S., and be on sale by March 15, 2015.”  At the end of the day, the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk stood proudly at the top of the pile.

The Four Wheeler Network found that the Trailhawk justified its name and did “very well on the trail.” The number of off-road features that helped this Jeep win are almost too numerable to count. Certainly, it’s 48.4 crawl ratio didn’t hurt its performance. There’s also a rear-locking differential, skid plates and the Selec-Terrain and Selec-Speed Crawl systems that allow the driver to adjust the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk’s response and handling.

The Trailhawk was also measured for its on-road performance. Though it took some getting used to, the judges admired the Jeep’s ESS (Engine Start-Stop) technology. One judge commented on its “comfortable, smooth ride that is perfect for a long trip.” Another said that the “Cherokee is a pleasure to drive on the highway.”

Finally, one judge gave his final endorsement, saying, “Extremely likable car-based SUV that’s way more capable and fun in the dirt than you’d ever imagine.” We couldn’t put it any better than that! Check out the new Trailhawk here at Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM!

Popular Band O.A.R.’s Concert in Colorado Takes Jeep on the Rocks

The future of Jeep Wrangler is about to get a bit rocky—in a good way. Popular rock band O.A.R. rocked out at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado last Saturday as part of the annual Jeep on the Rocks concert experience. The band kicked off their Jeep experience with an off-road excursion in Jeep Wrangler SUVs through Idaho Springs, Colorado before holding the special concert sponsored by the American Jeep brand.

“Colorado is full of devoted Jeep enthusiasts and we could not think of a more fitting way to celebrate their loyalty than to host a concert under the stars at Red Rocks with a legendary live performer like O.A.R.,” said Jeff Hines, Director of the Denver Business Center for Chrysler Group LLC.

O.A.R. is known for their dynamic, vibrant live shows, which make them the perfect band to showcase Jeep’s rugged Wrangler that is vibrant all on its own. O.A.R.’s concert in Colorado began at 7pm with the band Parachute opening for the top-of-the-charts band.

If you want to be a rock star, just like O.A.R., and need the perfect car for your entourage, stop in to Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep and see what Jeep brand vehicles we have for you!

Hilarious Jeep Driver Takes Advantage of Corvette Owner’s ‘Bad’ Parking

Nobody wants their car to get scratched or dinged in a parking lot, but drivers of fancy sports cars seem to be particularly sensitive about it. We’ve all see Porsches, Corvettes, and BMWs parked way in the back of a parking lot taking up two spaces.

But, what do you do when someone does the same thing in the first row of the parking lot right in front of the door? Well, if you’re a Jeep driver, you take matters into your own hands and pull up onto the curb and park extremely close to that precious Corvette.

That’s what one New Jersey man did after being stuck in traffic for two hours and stopping at a restaurant to get something to eat. When he saw the white Corvette taking up two spaces right in front of the restaurant, he decided to do what Jeeps do best and park however he wanted, too—half on the curb, right next to the Corvette.

He then took a seat in the restaurant by the window so he could watch for the Corvette owner. He then recorded the guy checking for any scratches as people walk by and laugh at him.

Maybe this Corvette owner has learned his lesson. If you want to park like you own the world, take your precious sports car to the back of the parking lot.

What do you think about this? Did the Jeep driver take it too far or did he give the Corvette owner exactly what he deserved?

Jeep Celebrates Easter with a Jeep Safari

Easter is this weekend, and no matter what your faith, it is likely you’ll take part in the traditions of painting eggs and eating candy or you at least know about them. If you’re a Jeep fan, there is an even better non-religious tradition to celebrate… the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. Check out the video from the safari last year:

This year, Jeep is filling the Easter baskets of car enthusiasts with six new concept vehicles including three Jeep Wranglers, two Jeep Cherokees and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicles have been specially tuned, customized and painted just for this weekend’s event. However, unlike most concepts, these Jeeps aren’t just for show.

“We look forward to putting these new Jeep vehicles in their proper environment and receiving important feedback from our most loyal customers at their favorite annual off-road gathering,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC in a Jeep press release.

While you won’t find the same kind of rock climbing that is available in Moab at the Easter Jeep Safari here in Rochester Hills, there are some great places up North where you can take your Jeep off-roading and enjoy all the trail rated features.
