Dodge Announces 2014 Charger and Challenger 100th Anniversary Editions

2014 will mark 100 years since John and Horace Dodge cultivated the first mass-produced all-steel-bodied cars in America.  Since then, the Dodge brand has gone on to enjoy a considerable amount of success with generations of drivers, thanks in large part to the legacy built by their Charger and Challenger vehicles.  It is appropriate, then, that the Dodge brand will celebrate its centennial with 100th anniversary editions of their 2014 Charger and Challenger that will boast unique commemorative features to coincide with the standard brand of power and performance that the name badges provide.

The additions that will make the 2014 Charger and Challenger 100th Anniversary Editions stand out from their more standard brethren include the availability of a “High Octane” read pearl coat paint, 20” aluminum wheels, and commemorative badging (reading “Dodge Est. 1914”).  Every 100th Anniversary Edition vehicle will also come with a book that chronicles a century of Dodge’s vehicle innovations.

The 2014 Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition will be based upon the 2014 Charger SXT Plus, which is powered by the award-winning 3.6L Pentastar V6 that doles out 300 horsepower.  Another version, based upon the Charger R/T Plus ups the ante to the 5.7L HEMI V8 that creates 370 horses and 395 lb.-ft. of torque.

Similarly, the two versions of the 2014 Dodge Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition will also be based upon the 2014 Challenger SXT Plus and R/T Plus models and powered by the Pentastar and HEMI engines, respectively.  The Charger Anniversary Edition package will cost an additional $2,200 over the MSRP of a 2014 SXT Plus or R/T Plus trim level model, and the Challenger Anniversary Edition will run an extra $2,500 over the same trim levels for the 2014 Challenger.

2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition Brings Past to Present

Before the Jeep Wrangler was available to the public, it was an integral part of World War II, providing the U.S. military with a rugged and durable form of transportation.  When the first civilian Jeep was introduced in 1945, the kinship America seems to have with the brand skyrocketed. Since the 40s, the model has seen multiple redesigns but, beginning early next year, the new 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition, which returns to the original Jeep’s capabilities, will be arriving in dealerships across the country, bringing a bit of the past to the present.

Ron Burgundy 2014 Dodge Durango Commercials Paying Off

If you haven’t seen the product of collaboration between Paramount Pictures and Chrysler to promote the all-new 2014 Dodge Durango and the new film Anchorman 2 yet, you’re missing out.

It’s difficult to show exactly how many sales are tied to the commercials, but they were launched in early October and Chrysler’s vehicle sales were up 11 percent in the month and sales of that Dodge Durango Ron Burgundy is bragging about experienced a sales boost of 59 percent in October.

What’s more is that according to, “Chrysler also got a good deal on the ads… because it didn’t have to pay Ferrell. The spots were seen as routine promotion for Paramount’s Anchorman sequel.”
