Summer officially starts June 21, 2014. Suffice it to say we’re ready for the season of sunshine and beaches to begin. There is nothing quite like loading up our Jeep and heading to Lake St. Clair, Lake Huron or Lake Erie. Well Jeep is trying to capture our very sentiment with their new ad campaign – #JeepSummer.
The hashtag driven campaign combines a series of three commercials with an instagram sweepstakes, USA Basketball and Jeep prizes as well as strategic philanthropy.
The commercials are fairly straightforward, go out and enjoy the summer in a Jeep, especially the 2014 Jeep Altitude trim levels. Which are, of course, the official vehicles of summer and USA Basketball.
The Instagram portion is tied in by using #JeepSummer when you post a picture about enjoying the summer. Some of our favorites are of people actually in Jeeps, but any picture denoted with the hashtag is eligible to win. To win what exactly? Well the grand prizes include trips to watch the USA Men’s National Team in action at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude.
In case you needed even more reason to enter, no purchase is necessary to be eligible for any of the prizes; each entry equals a $1 donation to the USO. The donations to the USO are the strategic philanthropy portion. As Jeep gives back to support military troops and families, they in turn are big supporters of the Jeep brand and it promotes a sense of patriotism on which Jeep was founded.
