Modified 1997 Dodge Viper GTS Takes on 2013 SRT Viper GTS

The dream match-up. Old vs. New. Modified vs. Stock. Blue vs. Yellow. Basem Wasef, Car and Driver‘s Contributing Editor recently took to the track with the greatness from Dodge, both new and old.

Here’s the stats:
1997 Dodge Viper GTS
-V10 w/ 660HP and 579lb-ft of torque

2013 SRT Viper GTS
-V10 w/ 640HP and 600lb-ft of torque

Sixteen years separates the two in age, but does it separate them in performance? That’s the question for so many different areas, but today we’ll go into cars. Here’s what the 2013 SRT Viper did:

0-60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds, quarter-mile in 11.5sec @ 128 miles per hour, and 206 miles per hour top speed.
