The Best Accessories for Your Jeep Wrangler

If you’ve got your hands on a Jeep that you intend to take off-road, odds are you’re wondering about the best Jeep accessories on the market. Here’s a quick overview of what you should be keeping in mind when shopping

Lift kit

You’ve probably seen Jeeps and trucks with lift kits before, but the Wrangler gets an extra kick out of a lift kit because improved ground clearance equals better off-roading adventuring.

Mud tires

If you enjoy crawling over rocks and through swampy, muddy terrain, a set of solid mud tires will help your Jeep perform and handle better.

Fender flares

If you’ve got the lift kit and bigger tires, you’ll need to be able to fit those tires on your Jeep. Bigger fender flares will make more space for your wheels.

Recovery winches

No matter how prepared you are for going off-road, odds are you’re eventually going to get stuck somewhere. This is why you should opt for a recovery winch with a capable rope for pulling a trapped Jeep out of perilous places.

Off-road lights

Visibility is important in the wild. That’s why you should give your Jeep some extra lighting, preferably with LED bulbs.

If you have any more concerns about the best Jeep accessories, don’t hesitate to call or stop in to ask us here at Rochester Hills CDJR. We’ll give you all the information you need to make a good decision.

Jeep Celebrates Canada Day with Life-Size Jeep Wrangler Model Made of Cans

The Chrysler Group donates to charities all over North America, not just here in the United States. We were reminded of that in an especially exciting way recently, when Chrysler celebrated Canada Day with a life-size Jeep Wrangler model built entirely out of cans. It took over 4,500 cans of food to make the model, food that will then be repurposed into meals by the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

“This unique Canada Day Canstruction project not only serves as a tool to raise awareness for issues of hunger and poverty in our country, it also demonstrates to the students involved how critical – and fun – subjects like science, technology, engineering and math can be,” said Reid Bigland, President and CEO, FCA Canada. “This project also provides a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to a community that has helped drive FCA’s success in Canada. In 2014 and year-to-date, FCA is the top-selling automaker in B.C. It’s fitting too, that the subject of today’s Canstruction is the iconic Jeep Wrangler, the top-selling small SUV in Canada and a great fit for the rugged terrain of British Columbia.”

The “Canstruction” was assembled in just twelve hours, a remarkable feat of engineering. This is the third time that FCA Canada and the FCA Foundation have partnered with Construction Inc. on a project, but this one is special for its charitable focus.

2015 Jeep Patriot – Cost to Own Award

The cost of owning a car includes a variety of factors, including purchase price, depreciation, fuel costs, insurance, and more. This is why it is important to think about more than just the purchase price when buying a new car. That is why, each year, KBB.com creates a list of the 5-Year Cost to Own awards.

This year, both the 2015 Jeep Patriot and 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited were included in the awards. This is the third year in a row the Patriot has won in the compact SUV/Crossover category and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited had the lowest ownership costs in the Mid-size SUV/Crossover segment.

“Winning these two significant awards from Kelley Blue Book is a tremendous honor and significant achievement for the Jeep Brand, and particularly for the 2015 Jeep Patriot and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, in a statement. “The awards reinforce the exceptional value that Jeep vehicles deliver to customers throughout their ownership experience.”

Both the Patriot and Wrangler landed on the list because of their value-oriented design and features.

Economic Off-roading: The 2017 Jeep Wrangler is Going Green

It’s a mean, green, Wranglin’ machine!

You heard right, the Jeep Wrangler is going green – and not just its color. Renowned for its off-roading capabilities and iconic look, the forthcoming 2017 Jeep Wrangler will include hybrid options for consumers.

Expected to launch in 2017, the overhauled off-roading vehicle will offer fuel economy savings with a gas-electric hybrid drivetrain and a reduction of bulk with the use of lightweight materials such as aluminum, and possible carbon fiber parts.

“For those people who use the Wrangler, the most important thing is the initial torque and the crawl ratio. With an electric motor you have the most torque available and with the right combination of transmission and gear ratios you can create incredible crawl ratios,” says Mike Manley, Jeep President and CEO.

However, for the patrons that worry a hybrid Wrangler model just won’t cut it in the back woods, Jeep says they will also offer a diesel version as well.

Go green with us at Rochester Hills, where we will be happy to show you your new 2017 Jeep Wrangler hybrid in the near future!

Jeep Wrangler Named SEMA’s Hottest 4×4 SUV for Fifth Time

SEMA's Hottest 4x4 SUV

2015 Jeep Wrangler

Every year, aftermarket tuners and carmakers rush to show off their vehicles decked out in special, top-of-the-line parts during the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Each vies for the prize of being named one of the show’s “Hottest Vehicles.” This year, the Jeep Wrangler has driven over the competition as SEMA’s Hottest 4×4 SUV, making it the fifth year in a row this rugged vehicle has earned the award.

“The Jeep Wrangler is our most accessorized vehicle and to have it awarded for a fifth consecutive year at SEMA demonstrates its popularity due to the quality of the vehicle along with that of the performance parts and accessories Mopar has developed for it,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO for Mopar Service, Parts, and Customer Care.

Winners of the prestigious Hottest Vehicle awards are decided through a survey taken by participating SEMA exhibitors. The Jeep Wrangler combined Mopar parts with the rugged, handsome Wrangler silhouette to create a drool-worthy off-roading vehicle. Performance parts, such as the 2-inch Lift Kit and the Front and Rear Axle Mounting Bracket Package, helped increase the Wrangler’s appeal, making it perfect for any adventure.
