Dodge Announces 2016 Challenger and Charger New Features

Challenger and Charger New Features

2015 Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger

While some may be put-off by Dodge’s recent announcement that the 2016 Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat will receive a price hike compared to their previous year models, the announcement did not come without good news – the new prices are being used to pay for a short but luxurious list of new features.

For the 2016 model year, the Charger will receive a $1,950 increase, while the Challenger will see a $2,500 increase. Though there are only two features being added, they aren’t disappointing; the roughly $2,000 price hikes will pay for the cars’ new Laguna leather seats, as well as a standard navigation system.

It’s not like the increased prices weren’t expected, either. With 707 horsepower and a supercharged V8 engine, both cars were in high demand, and the new 2016 models are expected to sell just as well as their previous year counterparts. Still, giving the Challenger and Charger new features in addition to raising the price proves Dodge is looking to make the higher cost worth it for their customers.

The 2015 Mopar Custom Models Showcase at Detroit Auto Show

Mopar dominated the spotlight during the 2015 North American International Auto show (NAIAS) in Detroit. With three new custom models available, including two Jeep Renegades and a Dodge Challenger, Mopar engineers have certainly been busy these past few months.

According to Chrysler the 2015 Mopar custom models are the Off-Road Mopar Jeep Renegade, the Urban Mopar Jeep Renegade, and the Dodge Challenger T/A Concept. Both Jeeps boast a selection of accessories and modifications, including graphics, lights, grilles and more. The interiors have been completely redesigned with high-end durable materials as well.

“Customers can pull from our portfolio of Mopar products to augment the versatility and capability of the all-new Jeep Renegade, as shown with two Mopar-equipped Renegade vehicles, or to beef up the muscle of the Dodge Challenger while adding a vintage feel, as demonstrated by the Dodge Challenge T/A Concept,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar.

The new Challenger is an interpretation of the ‘70s classic, with Sublime Green painting, a 6.4-liter HEMI, and racing brakes and exhaust. The T/A debuted at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, but is still causing quite a stir.

These 3 models highlight some of the best Mopar has to offer. Although Mopar is usually only associated with what goes on underneath the hood, its lineup at the NAIAS proves it has no problem customizing the exterior and interior as well.

2015 Dodge Charger Wins the Residual Value Award and Outlasts Its Competition

Dodge Charger Wins the Residual Value Award

2015 Dodge Charger R/T

At Rochester Hills Chrysler, we already know the 2015 Dodge Charger is an outstanding vehicle in terms of performance, but how does it hold up in value? According to ALG—the industry benchmark for residual value and depreciation data—the new Charger will do pretty well over the course of its lifetime.

Every year, ALG analyzes and recognizes vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three-year period. Winners are selected for 26 categories and determined based on careful examination of the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance, industry trends, vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand and pricing, and marketing strategies.

With all that into consideration, ALG made its decision. We’re thrilled the 2015 Dodge Charger wins the Residual Value Award in the “Fullsize Car” category.

“We’ve seen some amazing used market retention from the Charger over the years, and buyers clearly love its unique execution,” said Larry Dominique, President of ALG. “With the improvements Dodge has baked in for 2015, it should continue to lead the Fullsize segment going forward.”

Three Dodge Cars Earn JD Power APEAL Awards

APEAL Awards

Dodge cars have some of the highest curb appeal in their classes and now have APEAL trophies to prove it. J.D. Power’s 2014 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study found the Charger, Challenger and Dart as segment leaders for Large Cars, Midsize Sporty Cars and Compact Cars, respectively.

“These three APEAL awards, based on customer feedback, are a great way to celebrate Dodge’s 100 year anniversary and Chrysler Group’s commitment to continually deliver exciting, high quality vehicles,” Doug Betts, Senior Vice President – Quality, Chrysler Group LLC said in a press release. “A customer’s positive experiences with good quality lead to greater satisfaction, loyalty and the likelihood an owner will recommend their vehicle to friends and family. Personal recommendations are the most powerful type.”

At its core, the JD Power APEAL study is a measure of how happy customers are with their car. It takes into account 77 different attributes of the vehicle 90 days after the car was purchased. As you might expect, vehicles with the highest APEAL scores often have greater owner loyalty to the brand and are hard to keep on the lot due to demand. Good problems to have if you’re working at a car dealership!

If you’re interested in one of the three most APEAL’ing cars on the market, come see us at Rochester Hills to get behind the wheel of a 2014 Dodge Charger, Challenger or Dart.

Chance to Be Bad Giveaway with Dodge

Chance to be bad giveaway

While this blog post likely won’t “kickstart your heart” as much as Motley Crue’s famous song, the chance to win a 2015 Dodge Charger, 2015 Dodge Challenger, a once-in-lifetime opportunity to meet the band, and other great prizes just might do the trick.

As part of Dodge’s “Chance to Be Bad Giveaway” any of those great prizes could be yours. The 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger aren’t just any old trim though. They are the top-of-the-line trims, the 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker with 485 hp and R/T with 300 hp, respectively.

The “Chance to Be Bad” promotion goes hand in hand with another Dodge promotion that is currently generating a lot of attention, the “Double-Up Lease Guarantee.” The exclusive Dodge program rewards those who lease a 2014 Dodge Charger or 2014 Dodge Challenger by allowing them to lease a new 2015 model of either car for no additional down payment. Should you choose to buy a 2015 model after leasing a 2014 model, you’ll get $1,000 lease to retail bonus cash incentive.

All in all there has probably never been a better time to be a fan of Dodge’s amazing muscle cars or Motley Crue. At Rochester Hills we’ll definitely be imagining blaring “Wild Side” and cruising around town in a 2015 Dodge Charger a lot more often now since it’s our only real chance to be bad.

2015 Dodge Charger Unveiled at the NY Auto Show

New York auto show

New York City is the known to many as “The City That Never Sleeps.” It is a very fitting nickname, especially around the time of the NY Auto Show. All eyes are on the Big Apple as automakers try to make a splash for the upcoming sales season.

Dodge is joining the ranks of those grabbing attention with one of their most popular models and the most-successful four-door muscle car in the world – the 2015 Dodge Charger.

Although not much is known about this version of the charger, according to a Chrysler press release the all-new charger has received an overhaul to the body design. Dodge designers decided to re-sculpt almost every panel of the Charger to give it a more sleek and modern look.

An autoblog.com article also speculates that the 2015 Dodge Charger might feature a similar powertrain as the 2015 Dodge Challenger, mainly a Hellcat V8 engine. If you haven’t heard already, the Hellcat V8 is expected to produce hp similar to that of the V10 found in the SRT Viper.

While a lot of this is yet to be confirmed and we’ll have to wait a few weeks for the 2015 Dodge Charger to be unveiled to know for sure on any of it, it is just the kind of excitement we love to see surrounding the Dodge brand as a Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealer.
