Chrysler Diesel Engine Repeats as One of Ward’s 10 Best Engines

Two of Chrysler’s engines recently made it onto this year’s Ward’s 10 Best Engines list. The two engines were the 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 and the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6. The Chrysler diesel engine is a repeat winner, having made the Ward’s Auto list last year as well, and it remains the only diesel engine on the whole list.

At least one Chrysler Group vehicle has been on the list for the last five years, and both of these engines are very worthy candidates. The EcoDiesel gets 28 mpg highway in the 2015 Ram 1500 pickup and is also available in the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The HEMI engine, on the other hand, gets 707 horsepower, making it the most powerful engine ever included on the list. The HEMI engine powers the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

“These two distinctly different engines represent the wide range of powertrain-engineering expertise and technology at Chrysler Group,” said Bob Lee, Vice President and Head of Engine, Powertrain and Electrified Propulsion Systems Engineering. “For their considerable might, they also are both highly efficient and refined – key hallmarks of Chrysler Group powertrains. Such attributes have helped power our vehicles to the top of the sales charts.”

Those same attributes also helped lead the engines to be included on this exclusive list, and in turn, that recognition leads to more customer appreciation. So come see Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep for more news about both these engines and the amazing Chrysler vehicles in which they come.

2015 Chrysler 300’s Redesign Is Both Bold and Noble

Chrysler revealed a redesign of the full-size luxury Chrysler 300 in Los Angeles last week. The results of the transformation were nothing short of bold.  And yet, Chrysler understands what a lot of car companies miss when it comes to redesigns: tradition. No matter what you do, you are always building on tradition.

For Chrysler, it was important to reconnect with the original one-of-a-kind character of the 300. Chrysler brand CEO Al Gardner said, “It’s going to take you back to that 2005 car,” the first year of 300 production. “That’s when you saw it coming down the road, you sure as heck knew what it was.” Gardner wanted to take what was going on with the 300 back then and “up the attitude.”

One peek at the 2015 Chrysler 300’s redesign and you will think “attitude.” Inspired by the recent redesign of the 200, the new 300 has stately and taller front end, with a decidedly blue-blooded grille. Its lines are curvier this year and its stance hints a little more at performance.

At Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep, we have a long tradition of selling great cars at great prices.  Come out and test-drive a Chrysler today.

2015 Dodge Charger Wins the Residual Value Award and Outlasts Its Competition

Dodge Charger Wins the Residual Value Award

2015 Dodge Charger R/T

At Rochester Hills Chrysler, we already know the 2015 Dodge Charger is an outstanding vehicle in terms of performance, but how does it hold up in value? According to ALG—the industry benchmark for residual value and depreciation data—the new Charger will do pretty well over the course of its lifetime.

Every year, ALG analyzes and recognizes vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three-year period. Winners are selected for 26 categories and determined based on careful examination of the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance, industry trends, vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand and pricing, and marketing strategies.

With all that into consideration, ALG made its decision. We’re thrilled the 2015 Dodge Charger wins the Residual Value Award in the “Fullsize Car” category.

“We’ve seen some amazing used market retention from the Charger over the years, and buyers clearly love its unique execution,” said Larry Dominique, President of ALG. “With the improvements Dodge has baked in for 2015, it should continue to lead the Fullsize segment going forward.”

New Chrysler 200 Advertising Campaign Goes International

The newest Chrysler 200 advertising campaign comes straight from Detroit, but appears to be much more international than that. When we see the occasional car commercial that is filmed in another language and features English subtitles, it’s safe to say we’d assume the commercial is for a foreign-made car. In an unusual twist, Chrysler has opted to do just that, adding a sophisticated and diverse appeal to their latest advertising efforts.

A total of four commercials were produced by Wieden + Kennedy Portland, the same advertising firm that created the legendary Eminem spot for the last-generation 200. Each of the four commercials for the “Ready to Take on the World” campaign will air during NFL broadcasts.

Each piece of the campaign highlights a different aspect of the American-made 200, and is narrated in Japanese, German or Swedish (each with English subtitles). Each language represents qualities those cultures are known for – Japanese level of quality, German performance, and Swedish safety standards.

The clips in each of the commercials at first appear to take place in each of the respective countries (Japan, Germany, and Sweden), but that’s the result of movie magic. The clips were actually all filmed right here at home in the US.

Three commercials have been released – Japanese Quality, German Performance – Autobahn, and German Performance – Three Times. The Swedish commercial has yet to be released.

The Dodge Challenger is all about defying convention and expectation; come on, it’s right there in the name even. Of course, we were all recently blown away by the revelation that the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the 2015 year model, would get an unprecedented 707 horsepower. However, the most recent announcement is just as impressive, especially because of that huge horsepower number.

The new Hellcat will still get a very impressive 22 mpg on the highway. “The new 2015 Dodge Challenger is the perfect street / strip muscle car,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO – Dodge and SRT Brands. “As the fastest muscle car ever, the Challenger Hellcat can run 10-second ETs at the track, and then get 22 miles per gallon on the drive home. With a starting price of $59,995, there’s nothing else that even comes close.”

So, if you were leaning toward splurging on an all-new Hellcat, but you were worried it would eat your wallet alive in fuel costs, put that burden to rest. Come see us here at Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep to experience the all-new super-powerful and super-efficient Challenger for yourself.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Up for Auction

Remember when we told you about the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and its 707 horses produced by a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 engine? Well, in a few weeks at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2014 Auction you’ll have the opportunity to own the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat for yourself.

Not just any Hellcat is up for auction though; this will be the very first one off the line, VIN0001.

“The 2015 Challenger Hellcat is already guaranteed to be one of the hottest cars that will roll through the Barrett-Jackson auction lanes in decades to come,” Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO, Dodge and SRT Brands, Chrysler Group LLC said in a Barrett-Jackson press release. “The VIN 0001 being auctioned this year is the ultimate one-of-one collectible 2015 Dodge Challenger, as Dodge is ensuring there will never be another one like it.”

Adding to the rarity and desirableness of this 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will be the fact it is the only one that will ever be available in Stryker Red – a Viper-exclusive paint. The paint job will also be Viper-esque in the way that it is applied, by hand at the Viper paint facility.

Three Dodge Cars Earn JD Power APEAL Awards

APEAL Awards

Dodge cars have some of the highest curb appeal in their classes and now have APEAL trophies to prove it. J.D. Power’s 2014 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study found the Charger, Challenger and Dart as segment leaders for Large Cars, Midsize Sporty Cars and Compact Cars, respectively.

“These three APEAL awards, based on customer feedback, are a great way to celebrate Dodge’s 100 year anniversary and Chrysler Group’s commitment to continually deliver exciting, high quality vehicles,” Doug Betts, Senior Vice President – Quality, Chrysler Group LLC said in a press release. “A customer’s positive experiences with good quality lead to greater satisfaction, loyalty and the likelihood an owner will recommend their vehicle to friends and family. Personal recommendations are the most powerful type.”

At its core, the JD Power APEAL study is a measure of how happy customers are with their car. It takes into account 77 different attributes of the vehicle 90 days after the car was purchased. As you might expect, vehicles with the highest APEAL scores often have greater owner loyalty to the brand and are hard to keep on the lot due to demand. Good problems to have if you’re working at a car dealership!

If you’re interested in one of the three most APEAL’ing cars on the market, come see us at Rochester Hills to get behind the wheel of a 2014 Dodge Charger, Challenger or Dart.
