The Jeep Renegade is one of Kelley Blue Book’s Best SUVs for Under $25,000. Other accolades include Arizona AAA Top Pick For Cool Car Segment and KBB’s 10 Favorite New-For-2015 Cars, according to Jeep.
So when you are creating a marketing spot for the Renegade, any accompanying music has got to reflect that kind of flair, a song like “Renegades” by X Ambassadors.
Enter the X Ambassadors. The band hails from Brooklyn and, for some reason, their song entitled “Renegades” seemed appropriate for the campaign. Apparently, the song title was a coincidence.
Jeep had partnered with Interscope records and had challenged the record label to deliver a piece of music that reflected “the theme and the spirit of the new Jeep.” It just so happened that X Ambassadors, an Interscope artist, had been working on the “Renegades” that embodied the spirit of the Jeep.
Fiat Chrysler chief marketing officer Olivier Francois was happy with the marriage, to say the least. He said “The music is a smash, the hook is super catchy….The script of the song is…spot on.”
