Chrysler has recently announced the magnificent news of producing 2,000,000 engines. Cummins Incorporated has headed RAM’s diesel engine production, and now they are at the helm with over 2 million produced.
Cummins started in their partnership with Chrysler in 1985, when Cummins developed a 5.9L 12-valve inline 6-cylinder turbo diesel. RAM pickups now feature a 6.7L 6-cylinder turbo diesel pushing over 350 HP.
“The Ram Truck-Cummins diesel partnership is one of the industry’s most enduring and certainly fitting of such a tribute, both companies have benefited greatly, but Ram diesel customers are the real beneficiaries. Every day they experience the toughness and capability a Cummins-powered Ram can deliver.” Fred Diaz, CEO and President of Chrysler & RAM in Mexico.
“I am immensely proud of our association with Cummins, and I have no qualms matching our truck diesels against those of any competitor for performance and durability.” Bob Lee, Chrysler VP.
